Sunset at Fords Pond always involves the tree.  In part, because the tree is generally to the west, or westerly, and so becomes a natural focal point.  But also because it’s just so damn pretty.

As trees go it has an interesting shape.  And standing mostly alone in the edge of the field, with the radio tower in the distance beyond, it draws the eye as if posing, both graceful and peaceful.

I haven’t shot at Fords in a while now, since sometime last season.  But it’s my go-to location for astrophotography, and I always make a point to arrive a little early to get in a few sunset twilight photos.  I never leave disappointed.
