So no posts last week – sorry. That wasn’t entirely planned, but it’s how it played out. Last week was my birthday, which I normally wouldn’t even mention – I dislike having a fuss made over it, and generally limit my version of a celebration to a good meal, some nice wine, and that’s it.
My wife, however, isn’t in that camp with me, and generally makes a nuisance of herself all day, fussing over another trip around the sun. And since this year was a big birthday year (according to folks who acknowledge such things), she went all out and planned a photography-based birthday surprise for me.
That’s the photo at top – she took me see wolves! In fact, I got a two-hour private photo session with about 17 wolves. Which was simply, totally, indescribably awesome! (Only married two months, and she already wins wife of the year!)
I came home with 1400 wolf photos. I maxed out a 16GB card and moved into a second, which is practically unheard of for me. I’ve shot weddings with fewer photos than that.
So amid all the birthday fuss, posts didn’t get completed or scheduled. Sorry… I’m trying to get back on the bandwagon, but until we’re past the holiday season there’ll probably be other gaps.
In the meantime, brace yourselves – the coming weeks will probably include so many wolf shots that you’ll never want to see another one!
