BRENT PENNINGTON A full, blue moon, an occurrence that happens only once every three years, hangs over Lackawanna State Park at sunrise on the morning of 01 August 2015.

While processing the blue moon shots from my morning visit to Lackawanna, I started thinking about how they’d look in black & white. ┬áThe beauty of digital is that you can have it both ways, so I duplicated a bunch of the files and ran a conversion, and did end up liking several enough to keep them in both formats.

Most of my b&w conversions are done through the VSCO film emulation presets, but those didn’t work this time, so I did these manually in ACR, adjusting the color ranges on the conversion tab until I was happy with the effect.
