Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of the year.  It’s dedicated to friends and family, to being at home where it’s warm and comfortable, enjoying company and telling stories.  There’s some carrying on and always laughter.

And it’s good to be thankful, because there’s a lot to be thankful for.  Me, I’m thankful for great friends and a wonderful family, all of whom are very supportive.  I’m thankful to be living in a city I love, surrounded by people who are generally warm and friendly.  I’m thankful for the opportunities I get, the ability to travel a little and see interesting things.  And the list goes on.

I was up at sunrise this morning, enjoying a couple hours out in the field by myself before breakfast, and the start of the day’s gluttony.  It was a good time to think about this sort of thing – you know, in between shooting the sunrise and shivering.

My best, warmest Thanksgiving wishes to you all.  I hope that your holiday was filled with the same joy as mine!
