Simple Clicks – Fungus

Mushrooms grow in the wake of a rainy week at Abington Area Community Park on 21 May 2011.

Fungus at 420mm, to be precise.  I find myself pointing the bird lens towards other subjects fairly often, with interesting results.  It’s power to compress a scene and throw a background well out of focus is impressive, especially in a case like this when the focal depth is measured in inches.

Brent Pennington is a professional photographer and the driving force behind The Roving Photographer. When he’s not working with commercial or portraiture clients, he’s usually out in the field pursuing nature and wildlife shots.
